Contraception

We offer advice on all forms of contraception such as oral, topical and long term implantable options. We provide free consultation and prescriptions to all women aged 17-35 as part of the HSE Free Contraception Scheme. We offer a service for removal and fitting of Implanon.


Cervical Smear

We are accredited with the National Cervical Screening Programme. This is available free of charge for all women between 25 – 60 years old. You can avail of this service even if you are not a patient of the practice. To avail of this free service, you will need to register with the National Cervical Screening Programme. Please see www.cervicalcheck.ie

There is also a private smear service available if you fall outside the National Screening Guidelines. There is an extra laboratory charge on private smears, please check the fees page.


Fertility Care

We provide initial investigation and management for people experiencing fertility issues. This includes examination, blood test, imaging and semen analysis. Referral to tertiary care can be arranged where needed. 


Gynaecological 

We provide a full examination, investigation, management and referral service for all gynaecological issues, such as problems with periods or pelvic pain. 


Peri-Menopause and Menopause

We provide a full service investigating and treating peri-menopause and menopause. Please discuss with the GP if you would like to know more.  

Menopause usually starts between the age of 45 and 55. Early menopause happens when your periods stop before the age of 45. It can happen by itself or as a side effect of some treatments.

menopause is infrequent periods or periods stopping altogether, that are not caused by other reasons such as pregnancy.


Other symptoms can include:

  • hot flushes

  • night sweats

  • difficulty sleeping

  • low mood or anxiety

  • problems with memory or concentration

  • vaginal dryness and pain, itching or discomfort

  • reduced sex drive (libido)

  • discomfort during sex

  • fatigue

  • headaches

  • heart palpitations (a fast-beating, fluttering or pounding heart)

  • recurring UTIs

  • lack of energy

  • loss of muscle

  • weight gain

  • joint aches and pains
